Thank YOU!

Thank you for coming by!

You probably came across this website while you were at a restaurant buying yourself or your family food and drink. Thank you for caring about these little ones and recognizing that they are "thirsty too" and then DOING SOMETHING! Feel free to peruse the site and learn about what we're doing and where we're working. Also, we'd love if you'd consider joining the I'm Thirsty Too campaign as well by bringing it to your local restaurants! Keep reading or click HERE for more info Thanks again!

Current Project

The current well we are focusing on will be put in Jacobtown, Liberia. Liberia is a small and very poor country in West Africa. Click here to see where it's located. Liberia has no water system, power system or sanitation system country wide. Those who drink clean water are able only by the availability of clean water wells. Many, many people lack the basic necessity of clean water. Because of this, 1 in 4 children will not make it to their fifth birthday. A well can absolutely transform their villages into places of hope!

This well will be located in Jacobtown, a small community just outside the capital city of Monrovia. It is located next to an area known as "red light district" (not for the same reason you are imagining. The area at one time had 1 stop light), and is considered one of the most dangerous and despairing areas of the city. The well will be placed on the property of a community church and will be available to the entire community without charge or expectation of any kind.

The organization that is overseeing this well project is Spirit Liberia, a non-profit 501(c)3 located in Phoenix, AZ and working all across Liberia.

*note: We are partnering with Spirit Liberia for a total of 10 wells (this is our second) throughout Liberia. We will also partner with other organization and will update this site as to the specifics of where EVERY dollar is spent.

Why Get Involved?

We created I'm Thirsty Too as a campaign to raise money for clean water wells throughout Africa. However, not only is this a great way to actually raise money, but it was created as a way for passionate people to get involved. We hope that this is an easy campaign for you to take to YOUR city. We wanted to do the "grunt" work so that YOU can make a difference. By simply talking to your local restaurants, printing the ads and then collecting money each week, you can raise funds for clean water!

Get Involved!!!

Thanks for you interest in getting involved in I'm Thirsty Too. We hope that this is a simple way for people all across the world to get involved in helping people get clean water! (note: all of the documents for printing are located in the sidebar).

1. Download the poster to your computer
2. Upload it to your local Kinko's (or other printing/copying store!). Print out one copy that you can use to "pitch" this to the restaurants that you have in mind.
3. Make a list of the restaurants that you think might be interested. We suggest restaurants that have cash registers that you pay at (so you can put the poster nearby and a place to set the jar). Chick Fil A tends to be one restaurant that is VERY receptive to this idea!
4. Go into the restaurant at Off PEAK hours! You don't want to interrupt the manager at his very busiest time!
5. Explain the concept and ask if their restaurant would be interested. Remember to ask the size of posters that they'd like displayed as well as number. Also, ask how many jars and what size they are looking for.
6. Upload the files to Kinko's and print out the posters as needed
7. Print out the Jar Stickers on label paper (you could even do this on your color printer)
8. Go to your local Dollar Store looking for jars to collect money in and apply the labels !
9. Drop off the jars and posters! Make sure you email us with the Restaurant, Location and Manager's Name!
10. While you are waiting and praying that lots of money will come in, print off the "monies collected" spreadsheet.
11. Each week, make a plan in your schedule to go pick up the collected money.
12. Count the money before you leave the restaurant (in a booth, not right there at the counter, b/c you do not want to interrupt their business).
13. Fill out the "monies collected" spreadsheet and make sure to sign it and have a manager sign it before you leave.
14. Get a money order or have a check written for the amount collected. (you can check this site for who to make the checks payable to at the time) and send it in, along with a copy of the "monies collected" spreadsheet for the week.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Your help and sacrificial service will make a difference in the lives of hundreds of African men, women and children who are Thirsty Too!
